Sandra was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia. She graduated from Shea High School in 2001, and then started looking for a college, she enrolled CCRI in September 2001 where she learned English and started her new life making friends and adapting herself to this whole new world. It was there where she hit another road block, being eligible for Financial Aid. Education being her top priority, Sandra pushed herself to find a job; the money she earned working was barely enough to keep her enrolled in school. She graduated with honors from CCRI with an associate in arts with concentration in general studies on December 2003, and then she transferred all her credits to Rhode Island College where she was enrolled as a junior pursuing a bachelor degree in International Management and Marketing until May 2005. The difficult road Sandra traveled taught her an important lesson. She realized that she was capable of confronting a bigger challenge and be successful at it. She enrolled at Bryant University as a junior in September 2005 where she graduated with a prestigious degree. Sandra received an award at the CCRI 2005 Achievers ceremony that was host by the Rhode Island Educational Opportunity Center; also she was nominated by Bryant University for keeping an outstanding overall GPA and she appeared in the National Dean’s list book in 2006. Sandra recently became a United States Citizen. She served as a host of a radio show called the “Top ten count down”ン the best 10 songs of the week in Exitos 88.1 FM beginning in 2001.
